Dear Holmdel Township School Community,
I hope this finds you well.
And so the calendar has turned to June, placing us firmly in the homestretch of the school year with just 13 school days remaining following today. These final weeks are always filled with important culminating activities, celebrations, and end-of-year preparations, and I thank you in advance for your continued partnership in helping ensure a smooth and successful close to the year.
Please stay tuned for important updates from your child’s school principals regarding end-of-year schedules, events, and procedures. Importantly, information regarding summer reading and summer assignments will be shared with families over the next couple of weeks.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s school.
Enclosed, please find this week’s newsletter for your review and consideration. |

Holmdel High School's track and field athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the NJSIAA Group 2 Championships, earning podium finishes, setting records, and qualifying for the prestigious Meet of Champions.
Leading the way on the boys' side was junior Collin Werner, who captured a silver medal in the discus with a personal-best throw of 159 feet, 6 inches. His performance earned an automatic qualification to the Meet of Champions, established a new Holmdel junior class record, and moved him to No. 2 on Holmdel's all-time performance list.
Also earning a silver medal was "Lukas Lundh" in the triple jump. Lundh soared to a personal-best mark of **47 feet, 7½ inches, securing an automatic Meet of Champions berth while setting a new school record. His jump currently ranks No. 6 in the state of New Jersey, further cementing his place among the state's elite athletes.
The girls' team was equally impressive, led by sophomore standout Aylen Peters, who delivered one of the most remarkable performances of the championship meet. Peters earned a bronze medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.60 seconds, qualifying for the Meet of Champions via wildcard selection. She then placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, recording a personal-best 25.34 seconds, establishing a new sophomore class record and moving to No. 2 on Holmdel's all-time list. Peters capped off her championship day with a silver medal in the 400-meter dash, clocking 57.85 seconds and earning an automatic qualification to the Meet of Champions.
The girls' 4x100-meter relay team of Josephine Colantoni, Bisi Mabogunje, Brielle Lambros, and Teagan Flaherty also represented Holmdel with distinction, posting a season-best time of 51.26 seconds against strong statewide competition.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication, perseverance, and competitive spirit of our student-athletes and coaches. We congratulate all of our Hornets on their outstanding performances and wish our Meet of Champions qualifiers the very best as they continue their remarkable season. |
Congratulations to Holmdel High School art teacher Ms. Jillian Greco, who recently added "published illustrator" to her impressive list of accomplishments. Ms. Greco illustrated Ollie the Octopus and the Angry Sea Louse, a newly released children's book that helps young readers understand and manage feelings of anger through an engaging underwater adventure.
Written by a licensed professional counselor, the book teaches children valuable social-emotional learning skills, including recognizing early signs of frustration and developing healthy self-regulation strategies. Ms. Greco's vibrant illustrations bring the story to life while reinforcing its important message about emotional awareness and positive decision-making.
We are proud to celebrate Ms. Greco's creativity, talent, and dedication to supporting children both inside and outside the classroom. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement! |
Holmdel High School alumna Megha Ganne continues to make an extraordinary impact on the collegiate golf stage, capturing her second National Championship during her four-year career competing for Stanford University women’s golf.
In a defining moment of the championship match, she delivered the clinching point to secure the national title for her team, showcasing both her competitive poise and championship pedigree. Her performance adds yet another remarkable chapter to an already distinguished collegiate career, further elevating Holmdel’s proud tradition of excellence.

The administration and Board of Education have been receiving inquiries regarding the elimination of courtesy busing. In particular, one common question has been how the district calculates distance. This question, along with answers to other salient points, was addressed in the Courtesy Busing FAQ shared several weeks ago. You are invited to review the FAQ for relevant information and answers to frequently asked questions. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the Transportation Department or district administration. |
