Governor's Educator of the Year Nominations

I hope your week is off to a positive start.

Each year, the New Jersey Department of Education’s Governor’s Educator of the Year Program provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding staff members whose dedication, leadership, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and within their school communities.

Here in Holmdel, we know that our parents and students see firsthand the impact our staff have each day. Your experiences and perspectives are an important part of this recognition process, and we invite you to help us celebrate the exceptional professionals who support, inspire, and encourage our students.

Do you know a classroom teacher or eligible educational services professional, such as a school counselor, Child Study Team member, library media specialist, nurse, instructional paraprofessional, occupational or physical therapist, psychologist, social worker, speech-language specialist, Student Assistance Coordinator, or other eligible professional, who has made a positive difference for a student or our school community? We would love to hear from you.

Please take a few moments to recognize a deserving Holmdel educator by completing the nomination form linked HERE by Tuesday, November 17th. Parents, students, staff members, and administrators are all encouraged to participate in the nomination process.

Nominees must meet the eligibility requirements established by the New Jersey Department of Education. Among other criteria, candidates should:

• Be an exceptionally skilled and dedicated classroom teacher or eligible educational services professional;

• Demonstrate the ability to inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn;

• Actively collaborate with colleagues, students, and families to foster a culture of respect and success;

• Demonstrate leadership and innovation within the school community and beyond;

• Have the respect and admiration of students, families, and colleagues;

• Have a most recent summative evaluation rating of at least Effective, or the equivalent; and

• Have not earned the title of School, County, or State Teacher of the Year or Educational Services Professional of the Year within the past five years.
